Holy Queer Answers
Queer Christianity is Christian faith interpreted through the lives, questions, wounds, wisdom, and spiritual experience of LGBTQ people. It asks what the gospel looks like when those pushed to the margins are allowed to read, speak, pray, preach, and interpret for themselves.
From Holy Queer
Holy Queer participates in queer Christianity by refusing to treat LGBTQ people as merely topics of debate. The book positions Black queer life as a site of revelation, theology, memory, and sacred insight.
Queer Christianity is not simply about inclusion. Inclusion often means being allowed into a space that remains unchanged. Holy Queer moves beyond inclusion toward recognition, belonging, and theological reconstruction.
The book asks what Christians might see if they stopped reading scripture only through the lens of control and began reading through the lens of liberation.
What Holy Queer Proclaims
Holy Queer proclaims that queer lives are not footnotes to Christian theology.
They are sources of theological truth.
Queer Christianity does not shrink the gospel.
It expands what many people were taught the gospel could hold.
Queer Christianity is not a request to be tolerated.
It is a witness that God has been speaking from the margins all along.
